OUR STORY

Way back in 2003 ESL Teacher Mamadou Diomandé, now our Founding President, voluntarily co-created with a colleague of his the English Speaking Club of Lycée Moderne de M'Batto (M'Batto's High School English Club, ESCOLM). With his zest and love for children, and those of his peer Mr. Jean-Marie Koffi KONAN, the club rapidly became the attraction and talk of the town. Yet Mr. Diomandé wanted more.

Besides ESCOLM, in 2005 he started another English club by the name of USAE (United Stars of American English) to help students get aquainted with the American kind of the language. USAE also thrived. Thus, every Wednesday he was in M'Batto High School from 3 PM to 5 PM for ESCOLM activities and in the downtown area, from 6 PM to 8 PM, for USAE meetings.

It was in the meanwhile that in 2006, Mr.                                (then in office as  Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire) arrived in M'Batto's High School. He had been invited therein by the General Council's President, Mr. Paul Brou KOUA, who reportedly had told him about the dynamism of the school's English club.

In March 2007, Mr. Mamadou Diomandé received a phone call and a letter from the U.S. Embassy in Abidjan,Signed by Mr. David R. Andresen, the letter read: '' Dear Mr. Diomandé, on behalf of the American Government I am pleased to inform you that you have been invited to participate in the International Visitor Programs ' on Teaching English as a Second Language' which will take place in the United States of America from March 15 to April 05, 2007...''

On his return home from his life changing stay in America, Mr. Diomandé a.k.a Winner Diomson, was another man. He was litterally dripping with liquid love for United States !

In 2008, he sought after and obtained legalization for USAE, making of it a national club of English whose main objective was, and still is,to make of American English the second official language of Ivoirian students.

Although this new vision caused him to be the laughstock of some colleagues and superiors of his who rediculed him for ''wasting his time and money on children'', he stood his ground. And he did well.

In 2010, three of these children, on whom he was supposedly wasting his time and money, were granted an all-expense paid stay in America by U.S Department of State. They were to take part in the Youth Leadership Program and Civic Education in Washington, DC. Mr. Karamoko Coulibaly, currently our Vice President, was one of them.

The same year (2010), Mr Winner resentfully passed the leadership of his new-born club to some dynamic youngster-members who are still heading it today, to devote himself to growing the church he is now pastoring in M'Batto, Côte d'Ivoire.

But with U.S.-mania boiling more than ever in his veins and arteries, he broke through his reserve in 2015 and came up with a pacesetting idea: the creation of an NGO to promote American land, people and values as a tool of global development.

Consequently, on July 4, 2015, together with some fellow U.S.-maniacs, Pastor and ESL Teacher Mamadou Diomandé set up the new NGO to reckon with, ProAmerica International.
